Hair care is vital for hair health, but you may not realize it, a new study suggests.
Researchers found that even if you don’t have any hair loss, it can be a good idea to supplement your routine with products like hair conditioners and hair treatments.
Hair care, they found, is crucial to keeping your hair healthy.
The results of the study were published in the journal Clinical Dermatology.
In the study, scientists looked at hair care products available at specialty hair care stores across the country.
They looked at which brands were the most popular, and whether or not people who had lost hair said that they needed products to maintain their hair.
The study found that those who used the most hair conditioner products were also more likely to have moderate to severe hair loss.
The results were consistent among people over the age of 40, according to Dr. Lisa Riggs, a dermatologist and researcher with the University of Wisconsin.
Riggs said the findings are especially concerning for women, who often are expected to wear their hair care product regularly.
“When you’re going through a time of hair loss like we have here, you have to keep it up,” she said.
“It’s not like we’re going to go out to get a new haircut every week.”
While the results aren’t as definitive for men, they do suggest that a person who has lost hair may want to consider hair conditioning and hair treatment as part of their daily routine.
The study also suggests that women may need to consider the types of products that they use to maintain hair, too.
“It may be that people with moderate or severe hair losses should be looking at products with different types of ingredients and their effects on the hair on their body,” Riggs said.
While the research doesn’t address the role of supplements, the results suggest that the importance of hair care in hair health is important.
“People are not going to say, ‘I’m going to use this hair care for a long time, and then my hair’s going to fall out,’ but it’s not a bad idea to think about it,” Rigsons said.
Riggers said she hopes to expand the study to include other products, and to see whether other people who have lost hair had similar results.
“We’re hoping to look at the results for women in particular and the results are definitely more favorable for those women,” Rigges said.
The findings have not been published in a peer-reviewed journal, so the results could not be confirmed.
